Hello,
I’m looking for help with a contract-shipping error on a commercial account connected through a platform integration (ShipStation), and I’ve been directed here as the route for technical questions.
Background
- Customer number ending …5931, originally opened as Solutions for Small Business in September 2026.
- Upgraded to a Commercial agreement (Level 11 domestic parcels) via an Agreement Activation Form processed on 2 October 2026. Our sales representative confirmed the account was processed and provided our contract number.
- Credit Management has advised that no credit limit applies until a Pre-Authorized Payment registration is processed; the PAP form and void cheque were submitted on 2 October. Until then, the Method of Payment screen during platform authorization offers only “Use saved credit card”.
What happens
- Connecting the account in ShipStation as a Commercial account, authorizing with our Canada Post business profile: rate requests return our contract (Level 11) prices correctly for every lane tested.
- Creating a shipment initially failed with 2206 “Contract Number is a required field” (request ID dca48d5f-ae94-4450-b08a-7452bd3a109b).
- After reconnecting, shipment creation now fails with AA004 “You cannot mail on behalf of the requested customer” (HTTP 520, request ID 024f242f-3131-4e3b-8410-ac4334aa9e67).
Questions
- Does AA004 in this situation indicate that our contract is not yet associated with the online business profile for customer …5931 — i.e., something Customer Data Management needs to link — or that the platform authorization is bound to a different customer/profile?
- Is “Pay by Account” a prerequisite for contract shipping through a platform registration, so that the error will clear only once the PAP registration and credit limit are in place? Or is the profile-to-contract link a separate step?
- If a link needs to be made on Canada Post’s side, which team actions it and what do they need from me?
The business profile login shows customer …5931 on the account page. I can supply the full customer number, the contract number, the agreement details and the ShipStation log excerpt by private message.
